ArmorDeck®’s Elevated Transit Platform System has been expertly engineered and manufactured to outlast traditional transit platform materials and requires no maintenance.
ArmorDeck®’s Elevated Transit Boarding System utilizes structural composite platforms in place of traditional materials, such as concrete, to lengthen the life span of transit platforms. These lightweight, highly durable panels can be used in new projects or on existing platforms to replace deteriorated concrete slabs, using the existing steel or concrete structure. Not only do these transit platforms boast a lower life cycle cost than traditional materials, but are corrosion resistant and maintenance free, providing you with a transit safety solution you can trust for years to come.
Not only do ArmorDeck®’s elevated transit platform systems boast a longer lifecycle than concrete, but they are also 80% lighter, making for an easy installation which does not require the use of cranes. Although much lighter, these panels have been engineered and extensively tested to provide the same stiffness and vibration characteristics as concrete. Additionally, the interlocking joint and levelling system provides superior alignment and reduces time spent installing the panels.
ArmorDeck® panels are molded as a monolithic slab to precise tolerances so they can simply be bolted in place, without any gaps or differences in elevation. The shiplap joint and drainage channel design featured in the panel negates the need for caulking or sealant. In areas where salt or chemicals are used for snow and ice melting, concrete platforms deteriorate and require maintenance and replacement within 15-25 years. ArmorDeck® panels, however, are not affected by temperature, water, salt or other ice-melting chemicals, do not require maintenance and can last indefinitely.
